grey milk began from a spare bedroom back in 2020 as an alternative to the wasteful world of fast fashion. what started as a passion project quickly blossomed into a successful small business with worldwide demand and a loyal customer base. within a year we were able to build our own eco-friendly garden studio, where all of our garments are designed, manufactured and packed by hand.
we cater to all shapes and sizes with seasonal made to order ranges and a bespoke made to measure service, injecting new life into classic wardrobe essentials through textile, colour and pattern. we’re friendly, humble and like to take things slow here. whoever you are, we’d love to make you your next favourite outfit.
every order that comes through is handled by gwen from start to finish — every garment is designed, drafted, cut, hand crafted and packed up all under one roof by the same passionate person!
our business is constantly improving and we’re always striving to run a smoother, more streamlined service for you! being a one woman team comes with some challenges and so we ask for flexibility from our customers when it comes to wait times in return for a very special service filled with love, attention and care.

we are really passionate about making sure our customers of all shapes and sizes are catered to whether they are petite/tall/plus or have other specific requirements. our standard size guide covers the equivalent of a UK4—UK32, and we offer a made to measure service for customers that need something more bespoke.
-
we are 100% vegan friendly, with no animal products/byproducts of any kind being used in our business. we are silk, wool, leather and fish derivatives free.
-
we are an entirely made to order brand. this means we only produce what’s absolutely necessary and as a result we prevent excess waste or stock that could end up in landfill. because we are a small team of two, the quantities we can produce in a whole season are still less than that ordered by fast fashion giants every single week. we don’t believe anything can truly be planet friendly if it’s mass produced.

we love working here! our workplace is ethical, inclusive and friendly. everyone is paid a fair wage and we ensure that the materials and services we source share these same values.
-
we’re proud that the majority of our fabrics are natural, organic and OEKO-TEX and GOTS certified. all of our fabrics have traceable origins and an ethical supply chain. there are a couple of styles that we’ve chosen to use synthetic materials for because there isn’t currently a more sustainable and appropriate alternative. whilst we’re still trying to find a solution for this long term, please know that our synthetic jersey is 100% recycled, and our faux leather is 100% vegan, highly durable and waterproof.

we do our best to carry our values through to every element of our business. we shop locally for trims and supplies, we use planet friendly packaging, and we always try to offer end-of-roll sample sales to use up any waste we might be storing. we even built our own studio last summer, right here in gwen’s back garden.

we make clothes for nice people. grey milk is an extension of who we are as people — we champion kindness and compassion here, and we can’t thank you enough for supporting us!
